The starting point for Katharina Gruber’s work “Movie Puzzle” are excerpts from animations by Czech filmmaker Jan Švankmajer from the 1960s. The film clips are shown in nine equal parts on the floor projection of the Deep Space in random fragmentation. The pieces can be moved by entering and moving within the space. The goal is to reassemble the nine constantly changing pieces into a complete video. To achieve this, participants must collaborate to find the matching pieces and snap them into place.
