As an exchange student in Linz I wanted to create my own little house here in Austria therefore I used the house and garden as the illustration and elements inspired by my playful time studying in Linz. I wanted to do this in an aesthetic and interactive way to share my joy and good memories with my newly found friendships and to practice my knowledge and way of using code as a media for visual and interactive art. The Austrian House is an interactive project. To interact with the program the player must walk around in the illustrated garden of the house to find hidden sound- and animation-effects connected the drawn elements in the garden. The gifs that the program is using are hand drawn stop motion. The images are painted on top of frames from video of dancers from Bruckner University.
